Freedom Planet is 30% off this week, and I really recommend it. $11 is still kind of steep for an eShop Sonic-esque platformer, I think, but I can't deny that it's really well made and a lot of fun.

Damn, Super Mario Advance 4 sounds awesome then.

I just wish they didn't shove in those annoying voices into the GBA versions of these. Hated that addition to the Yoshi's Island GBA version, lol.

Nope, it's worth every penny.

I mean, I'm not regretting my purchase, and I think it's worth the asking price, but I know a lot of people will look at that price and hesitate. Even on sale, I hesitated (though I'm extremely glad I took the plunge). I normally have to reallllly think about it if I spend more than $10 on a digital game.

I also have Earthbound Beginnings, Sin & Punishment, and Ufouria on my Wii U. Are there any other Wii U (not Wii) virtual console games that: (1) were not released physically in North America; or (2) have extra features that are not generally available (e.g., the e-reader levels in SMB3)?
VS. Excitebike is one.

Man I even jumped in on Freedom Planet after this thread tonight.

Really dug the e-reader levels in SMB3 + the game comes with an enhanced version of the original Mario Bros. Good little combo there for $7.99. Do any of the other Super Mario Advance games have such extras? Hmm, I actually own the physical GBA games for Super Mario advance 2 and 3, maybe need to fire those up.

All 4 Mario Advance games include a remade version of Super Mario Bros. The Yoshi's Island remake includes 6 new levels you can unlock. The Mario World remake lets you switch between Mario and Luigi at will, and Luigi has his higher jump and slippery physics.
