No, no, don't grind outside the boss room. Grind in the ladder and moving platform area with the little rotating enemies. Better drop rate, and much easier.
Stand on the ladder at the bottom, shoot the enemies as they get above the right edge of your platform. They should all spawn from the right side.
Didn't care for Otogi 1 at all. This is years after I had played Ninja Gaiden Xbox, Devil May Cry games, Onimusha, Shinobi PS2, Way of the Samurai etc... Otogi's boring level design, floaty controls, and on rails bosses were not fun at all. Compared to all the other Japanese action games I played and loved that gen I didn't see what the deal was.

Interesting. I've beaten Frame Gride. It was cool, and some of the stages were really great (like the one up in the sky). I like the style, and the customization. It even plays pretty well-- but that final boss is such a PoS. Would be really cool if it were still playable online, though.

Give the second game i try. I played the second game first and loved it but i couldn't get into to the first. It will still have the floaty controls of course but the levels are much better.
