Going to sound like a weird question...
But has anyone gotten any of the Wii VC releases on the U yet? Do they by chance look better than they would via disc? Since Wii games can't output to high resolutions, they still look pretty jaggy. I wonder if they somehow are smoothed out for the VC releases though.
I'm reading around that Super Mario Galaxy 2 apparently looks really good and that the emulation fixes the fake widescreen issues the Wii had. And loading times for Metroid Prime Trilogy are much quicker. It's all pretty confusing though. If only the Wii simply upscaled and output 720p normally or something...

Bayonetta 2 out of print?
Every time I add something to my Amazon wishlist I check the prices for games that are already on it. Noticed that Bayonetta 2 was hovering around $70-$80, from third party sellers. Went out today and found two copies left at Target, so I snagged one. Got Splatoon too, good shit.
Just a heads-up. Used prices are likely to drop, and reprints are possible, so don't pay insane reseller prices.

Can anyone confirm? I noticed this last week myself, but just thought it was a case of Amazon having weird prices as they do sometimes.
How much was it at Target?
Does the first game come on a separate disc? In case I go out and look for used.

Still $59.99 at Target. Sigh. Forgot to mention that I went to Best Buy first, they had zero copies.
Just found this article on the Googles too:

This is terrible. Devil's Third sounds like it'll be hard to find too.
I wouldn't be that upset, if the Wii U actually... I don't know, had a real HDD? Thus Nintendo shoving digital in my face wouldn't be so bad. But that's not the case.

My biggest and really only gripe against the Wii U is the lack of an internal hard drive with some substance to it. With Nintendo trying to push digital as you said I have to keep removing stuff from the HD to get new stuff on it. If it it had a 500 GB or larger HD I'd probably get a lot kite digital then physical, for me that's odd but I like being able to turn it on and play.

From everything I've read it is ridiculously easy to format a large USB drive to act as an additional hard drive. A couple guys I know who do reviews just have them permanently in the one USB port. Works great.

For having myself a 500GB HD permanently plugged in I concur, this is the way to go if you're into VC and eShop releases.
Also, I recommend getting an USB Drive that does not require an AC power supply. Instead I'm sure you would prefer something that can be powered by the console itself, simply by using an Y USB cable and thus making you save an outlet ^^

You really shouldn't do this. It's possible it can be used without obvious damage for several years, but the USB ports on the Wii U aren't designed to power a HDD. You need to be mindful of the amperage the external drive wants.

I'll keep that in mind, even though it's all been working fine for a year now. Plus, this HDD is designed to be powered by one USB port solely (when used on a computer), so I'm guessing the amperage he needs should be pretty low.
Anyway, time will tell if I was wrong doing so ^^
