Sure, but... I was a huge fan of Bungie Halo, the original is still one of my favorite games of all time and I had like 10 profiles all beaten for some reason. Couldn't get enough of these games.

~1 hour of Destiny was too much Destiny for me. The hub world was boring, the beginning was boring and annoying, the premise was boring (or rather complete lack of story), the everything was boring. My old roommate let me borrow it, since he hated it too. It was amazing how fast I got bored of it and never wanted to play it again.

Yeah it *feels* like Halo with the controls and all, but it has different priorities and mechanics. So take that for what you will. Apparently has a lot of fans here, but I hate loot based games. PSO was legit though.

I agree that it feels like Bungie Halo. And I agree that Halo CE is an amazing game! Playing it solo on Legendary was an amazing experience and really makes you appreciate weapons you would overlook on Normal difficulty.

But I have the opposite opinion on Destiny. I love it. Granted, I got into the game after it was already 2 expansions deep. From what I have heard, the vanilla game was nothing special. I co-op'ed through it with my uncle and we had a blast. We are stoked for Destiny 2.

everything is better with friends. I find a lot of people who didn't enjoy destiny didn't have a group of people to play with. It's okay if that is the case for them, but yeah... you need at least one friend to heighten that experience.

Not played Halo Prime games. Since former Retro Studio's Metroid Prime talent worked on Halo 4 and 5 and they looked kinda interesting. I only played Halo 1 and 3. Didn't like em very much. Felt kinda bland to me. It has been a decade since I played 3 single player and online play. 13 years since Halo Combat Evolved. So I might like them more now..just in no rush to get them.

Yeah. I find that I can't play most loot focused games by myself unless I have someone else along for the ride.

I can.

I have a serious Grim Dawn problem.

Almost any Diablo-style ARPG actually...

That makes sense. I'm just not very inclined to the genre or MMO's, but yeah this stuff is way better with friends. In fact I played most of PSO co-op split screen with a friend. We got very mad at each other when it came to boss drops...

343 Halo freaking sucks. 4-5 are really bad and insanely generic. They had an entire universe to work with, but instead you get ~6 hour campaigns about a rogue AI trope. Never seen that before right? And were you ready to fight the Covenant all over again? Yeah there's some new enemies... but they are completely forgettable, along with all the new weapons. They innovated nothing. And the new composers can't fill Marty's boots at all. Somehow, 5 was even worse.

That's a shame as I thought it looked neat with Prime art design and Samus like visors. I guess for my sci fi shooter fix still sticking with Binary Domain,VanQuish and EDF in the modern era.

I can see that. But by that point I wouldn't say that was Halo at all. I was really put off by the art direction change (and the new enemies/weapons). I think the original Halo games have top notch art direction, especially all the Forerunner architecture and whatnot.

You're not wrong about the Metroid comparison though, I can totally see it.

I really like Halo CE and Halo 2 in their remastered forms in the Master Chief Collection too.
