Ahh, I miss old game design. The game had the intended difficulty, and you had to spend time to learn it to get better. (Or use a Game Genie)

I agree, I think everyone's gotten their respective arguments across on this one.

Unpopular Opinion:

Cyborg Justice rocks.

I am with you!!!! The controls are janky and jumping is doubly so, but nothing felt more fulfilling then ripping a person's torso off and chucking it at other robots. Had that game as a kid and mastered it... probably couldn't do so now.

That reminds me of Base Wars on the NES! It was really stupidly unbalanced because it was way too easy to completely ignore the rules of baseball and just beat to death anyone who tried to tag you out, but that was just part of the charm! X3

They might be shit publisher now but they weren't on the 90's and early 2000's. They released bunch of good games like Mechwarrior, Hexen 2, Heretic 2 Battlezone, Soldier Of Fortune, Vampire: The Masquerade, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and others. It's really after Call Of Duty when Actision starts to rot and it's still not all bad even after that.

Definitely. In the 90's and into the early 2000's Activision practically stood for "super awesome PC games."

I don't think this is quite true. Atari 2600 games had multiple difficultly and gameplay modes that could be changed by messing with the switches on the console. Most Intellivision games have the same blue start-up screen with difficulty selectors. Same goes for the ColecoVision. And there are countless 8 and 16-bit examples. It was more commonly seen in certain genres than others of course, but the ability to modify difficulty is almost as old as gaming itself.

Skylanders and Destiny were two brightspots. Call of duty is of course the proverbial shit money train that its been since i was a kid. Sad but thats modern gaming for you.

Destiny is a mediocre game and in many ways just a knockoff of Phantasy Star Online series. Skylanders is just garbage. Fun for kids because toys but they are not good games. It's sad that they are the reboot of Spyro.

Activision has been awful since PS2 era, they just got progressively worse.

Quite honestly, I never thought Spyro was anything special to begin with. (shrugs)

How is Destiny in any way a knockoff of Phantasy Star Online? Because it is an MMO that has a lobby hub? How about this? Phantasy Star Online is a rip off of Diablo? How about, games have multiple elements that are similar to other games, but are not a direct response to them.

Toys to Life style games are for a certain audience. How many of them have you played and for how long? Did you play solo or co-op?

As far as innovation, skylanders deserves a beat. I dont play it myself because im an adult but i still recognize the quality of it. Destiny might have been shallow at first, but it has since changed to somewhat innovative quality expierence. Im not sure how it knocks off Phantasy Star Online... :/

Before your panties get tied up in a knot and make assumptions as to why. I'd tell you but you would not even listen. You just want to make a big thing again. Not biting this time.
