The fact is that I have to start at the Austin store on July 15th and my original plan of getting a bank loan for moving expenses didn't work out. I want to move on July 1st so I'll have some time to get settled in town. (I have two weeks paid time off between Jul 1-15)

Honestly I'd rather not sell anything if I don't have to, but either way I have to find a way to pay for moving expenses really fast.
This is legit. Austin is not a cheap city to move to. I live down the road in San Antonio. Occasionally the wife and I think about moving to Austin but the thought never goes too far.

Here's a random gaming thought: So I'm playing Megaman X last night and I'm on the Chill Penguin stage, bemoaning the fact that the game practically forces you to play Chill Penguin first because without the Dash upgrade, you can't unlock the fun of the other stages.

I'm at the end of the stage where Sigma's curiously specific snowball throwing machines are throwing, well, snowballs. These snowballs turn into the huge snow boulders that crash into you as you climb the snowy hills....

...except they don't. I kept trying to get one of the snow ball throwing machines to throw a ball at me on a line that would hit a snow drift so that I could see if the game would actually animate the snowball getting larger and larger. But I could never do it. The snow ball throwing machines almost seem incapable of throwing a project on that line!

I feel like the last 21 years of my life are a lie.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Heh, maybe we can meet up sometime once I'm living there? Assuming I decide to be less of a reclusive hermit of course.

The post does say that Apple needs to raise money fast. I suppose the important question here is: What's the money needed for?

You could try getting some to agree to buy some of your games and will hold them and sell back to you at the same price. Maybe make it be good for a year or something? Basically like a collateral loan without interest...

That's really not a bad idea, but I really don't know of anyone who'd be willing to do something like that.

you may be looking at a community right here that may be willing to do that. It never hurts to ask.

Sure! I make it up to Austin at least a few times a year if only for the awesome retro-arcade Pinballz.

Hopefully a new town will translate into a new outlook on life for you. I incline towards hermit mode myself but I've managed to become a little less so since I moved to this part of the state a few years ago.

I did the same thing, many years ago. I never saw them become bigger. It sucks

I tried to go to Pinballz when I visited but it was early in the day and they were closed and I didn't get back to that part of town by the time they opened. :(

What's killing me is that I think I assumed since I was a kid that they did.

@AppleQueso

If you start selling your games and willing to ship international, inform me. I might buy stuff.
Retrogamer0001 wrote: I don't see how you think the PS3 has a stronger library, but that's your opinion. Most of the best PS3 games were multi-platform (and yes, cross-gen) with few exclusives, unless you like FPS. Demon's Souls is one that stands out for me, as well as The Last of Us and Heavy Rain, but there seemed to be far fewer innovative titles on the PS3. I like the system, but it doesn't hold a candle to the PS2 in my mind.
Lets clear things up. Are you saying the PS2 was a better console in its day over the PS3 in its era? Or are you saying if today in 2014 I was given a choice between PS2 and PS3 which is the better console?

In its era, PS2 ('02 ->'08) was probably a better console than a PS3 in its era ('07->2014). But if you ask me today which would I pick. i would be the PS3. If you ask why then its because PS2 had more exclusives, the competition was weaker, I believe it was cheaper, smaller in design, and a much bigger library compared to competition.
RyaNtheSlayA wrote: Sure, now they are, but they were on the PS2 and Xbox and GameCube first. You could also play them on a backwards compatible PS3. I wasn't arguing that the library of the PS2 was better at all. As you pointed out, many of those best games are available in some newer, updated form. I was arguing that era of gaming was the best it has ever been. The fact that those collections sell so much with so little effort is if anything, a testament to the quality of those games.
As I told Retrogamer , if you you compare PS2 in its era vs PS3 in its era then PS2 was much superior. In fact, PS3 was 3rd in this race up until last year or so. Today , PS3 probably has all the best of games from the PS2 era in HD and then all the new games and IPs of the PS3 like Uncharted and Assassin's Creed. Also, wireless controllers and no memory cards.

I am only counting PS3 releases, not emulated games like PS2 classics and PSX
