I'm currently running around Hyrule Castle farming cores to finish upgrading my Ancient armor. Fully upgraded Ancient armor gives the same defense as fully upgraded Hylian Soldier armor plus the extra resistance to Guardians and the set bonus to Ancient weapon damage, so that's going to be my main armor from here on out. I just need 7 more cores to finish the full upgrades.

That's the only divine beast I have left to finish.

Ok, I just got the glider and traded in my first 4 orbs for a heart.
I want to wander, grind and level up for a bit. Any suggestions, advice and is there any way for me to store my extra items, like weapons, for later?

If you buy the house in Hateno, you can store up to 3 melee weapons, 3 bows, and 3 shields. The house costs 3000 rupees and some stacks of wood. To get the mounts needed to store the weapons, you have to pay 100 rupees for each one.

As for general advice, I'd follow the main quests until you at least get to Hateno & Kakariko (while hitting any shrines/towers along the way). Then explore and do whatever you want once you have the armor sets available in the armor shops of those two villages.

My advice is not to be afraid to throw away a weapon if you want to try a new one. They break really fast, but they're also plentiful. One general rule of thumb is that the bokoblin and moblin weapons are very brittle but are typically pretty fast and are VERY plentiful. Lizalfos weapons are more durable but still typically not as good as soldiers' or royal weapons. My most trusted weapon is the royal broadsword.

Got my Master Sword last night, too.

I prefer the extra stamina, so I used the Hateno statue to convert it to hearts. Grabbed the master sword and swapped it back into stamina.

This is the most fun I've had in years with my clothes on. It's easy to wreck 5 hours by hopping from one distraction to the next in an elongated chain of bliss.

I did the same thing to get the Master Sword, and I agree with you 100% about how easy it is to waste time in this game. I seriously can't think of any single player game that I've exclusively devoted ALL of my gaming time to for two solid weeks before now.

I knew from some posts around here how many hearts I was going to need, so I'd been concentrating on getting heart containers. I didn't know anything about the tradeoff stuff. I've also not been poking around towns a whole lot, though, preferring to keep cruising the countryside.

It really is remarkable how much more interesting the exploration is here than in Final Fantasy XV, although there were still elements of that combat system that would be neat to see here.

... No.

It is worth noting for you guys earlier on, that you should probably only consider a minor focus on hearts up to get the Master Sword. Otherwise it becomes really easy to get a bunch of food and recipes for extending your heart count and some have had good arguments that there's higher level enemies that are going to one shot you no matter what. Plus you can have some defense buffs too and upgrade armor. So additional hearts ultimately doesn't feel too crucial at times. You might want to consider dumping a little more into stamina.
