Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
The new gf waking up...forgetting I was laying beside her( first night I spent at her house)..gets up, goes and takes a shower..Comes back into the room with a towel on, and drops the towel.
YES
Needless to say she freaked out when I said "holy shit" but the visual was worth it

Frown: The shootings in Colorado. The movies are supposed to be that safe place anyone with a few bucks can go to to escape life for a few hours. And now I worry that little piece of paradise is gone forever thanks to some chicken shit, cowardly little asshole. I feel like in the course of my life every single public place that has been thought to be 'safe' has been undone. So much blood spilled for no reason whatsoever.
Also I now feel guilty for being excited about seeing Batman tonight.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Don't. The movie didn't cause the shooting, you wanting to see the movie didn't cause the shooting either.Flake wrote: Also I now feel guilty for being excited about seeing Batman tonight.
It was horrible, yes, but it's simply the act of a psychopath. You shouldn't feel guilt over it.

Rationally, I understand and agree with that. The guilt still lingers though. Part of it is that I cannot stand how cowardly something like that is. I just makes my blood boil.AppleQueso wrote:Don't. Frown: The deaths in Colorado at the movies.
Is it just me, or does it seem like mass shootings happen more there? It always makes me nervous when I hear about one, because I have family up there...

Denver actually has one of the highest depression rates in the nation. There's evidence that suggests the lower oxygen levels due to altitude may actually contribute to that.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Frown: The deaths in Colorado at the movies.

Well, I think it is more that there are now 2 famous ones that happened near each other in Colorado. I'm sure there are people in other countries thinking "Don't go to the US, they're all crazy bastards who go on shooting sprees all the time." The thing is we make a huge spectacle about it.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Frown: The deaths in Colorado at the movies.

Way too much of a spectacle if you ask me. I imagine the media frenzy is exactly what people like this shooter want.Hobie-wan wrote:Well, I think it is more that there are now 2 famous ones that happened near each other in Colorado.
