I miss the epic Nintendo vs. Sega wars. I remember one time in 6th grade I was proclaiming that the Genesis had "no RPGs." Next day a kid brought in a magazine with screenshots of all the Phantasy Star games. Blew my balls off.

sorry to hear about your balls LOL. I think it is a valid point though. Imagina if they could have used the power of the 32X to make ports of those great Snes RPGs. Or, if they would have kept supporting the Sega CD and kept on bringing us good adventure and RPG games on it. It makes no sense why they gave up on consoles so fast. Did they never think to themselves that people would not buy something that might be dropped in a short period of time. If they would have just stuck with it and kept pushing out games. Imagine having a 700 game library on the Sega CD or Saturn!!!

I'd say they are continuing with it, to a point. If you want to play online with friends, you need to get the same platform they have (or convince them to get what you have).

For single player, sure, console holy wars are playground tier.

For the very first time in my life and in my collection, I gave some games away.

More accurately, traded them in to a local store. 4 GBA games and some additional cash later, I got a GC, NES, SNES, and Genesis game. More information in Games Acquired.

Im still all for SNES over Genesis  , but im open to collecting Genesis games if the price is right, and disposable income or not, this shit is getting expensive.

Sega does what Nintendon't.

My favorite has to be Sega's jab at Sony.

And then Sony's jab at Nintendo.

From 1998 to 2000 I actively hoarded PS1 isos and had binders full of games. I had spindles on top of games I probably never even tested. They were for a "rainy day" I always said but the Dreamcast, PS2 and other systems pushed aside any urge to go back. When I got married and moved, i took them with me even though many of those old Verbatim CDRs had deteriorated. I started collecting the real thing - sports and RPGs mainly.

I finally threw them all out the other day as there was just no room in my office/gaming room.

I never burned CDs but I used to spend hours downloading ISOs, ROMs, and abandonware DOS games. Then one day I said "what the hell am I doing? I can never play all this shit." So then I started collecting physical games at such a fast and furious rate that I'll likely never have time to play all of them either.
