I meant equating handheld/console shmups difficulty standards to the same as arcade shmups.
Now stop this twaddling, and go finish King's Field IV, or I'm revoking your tentative SMEGMA membership.

My copy of the original King's Field is on its way.
It's taking awhile. I heard USPS has to use special precautions when handling a package of that nature.

Yeah those brass balls are heavy.

I am playing both Dust: An Elysian Tale and King's Field simultaneously. My children started out liking Dust, but now they would much rather watch me play King's Field. I think I deserve a lifetime membership! (You may end up revoking it, however, when I list Angry Birds during the summer gaming challenge...unless...of course...genuine enthusiasm for classic, but now much-reviled, "casual" games is now the hallmark of a true "core" gamer.

)

I think Angry Birds is a legitimately fun albeit milked WAY past death game.
I should probably play King's Field at some point....I know I'll never beat it - I'll never beat any of From Software's RPGs - but I should at least attempt.

I'll go ahead and criticize it for simply not being old enough, even if it is likely the biggest we can say to a "premier" iOS game.
But then again, wait until you see how I intend to approach my list this year...

Honestly some of From Software's RPGs aren't very hard. For example, Eternal Ring and Lost Kingdoms are pretty easy but fun nonetheless.

I thought this year's meme for you was focusing on online competitive games that don't officially end.

Not entirely. I still plan to continue with that for the time being, but I'm also holding off on playing a lot of classics I have access to because I'm waiting for Summer.

I finally finished If My Heart Had Wings. Seriously, it's like they got retarded orangutans addicted to cocaine to translate that. Parts of it are fine, but parts make literally zero sense. I want that 17 hours of my life back.

I just played through Episode One (the only one out so far) of Missing: An Interactive Thriller, and that is a FANTASTIC game. It's everything that FMV point-and-click games 20-something years ago tried to do but done EXTREMELY well.
