So it turns out that mu-ziq did a soundcloud dump too. Holy shit. I have added so much amazing music to my hard drive in the past couple of weeks.

Aphex Twin also did an epic interview with his friend from Noyzelab. It has been taken down since then, but you can still read it via the wayback machine:
Part 1
Part 2

Here is a handy page for downloading the Aphex Twin soundcloud dump, the mu-ziq soundcloud dump, and the Aphex Twin Syrobonkers sound files:

New Prodigy album y'all!

It's brash and noisy and very Prodigy. Sometimes it comes off as a bit too much, but in short bursts it is a fun rabid animal to poke a stick at.

I played a video on youtube for my niece a while back "Catbug's Lost Dance" which she liked (We both love Bravest Warriors) but the song got stuck in my head!
The song from the video is Bananonymous.
I finally purchased the album, and now they're all stuck in my head - all so different from each other too.

He's mixing so many genres and mastered them all so well- check it out.

edit: Whoa! New Prodigy?!?

Squarepusher: Damogen Furies

There is a new Squarepusher album. I am still trying to digest it, so I don't have too much to say yet. He seems to be experimenting a lot with the form of his music, though the timbres sound pretty similar to prior works, at least the abrasive acid stuff. Some of it I am liking, some I am not, but it seems like the kind of album you need to mull over for awhile rather than form quickshot opinions about, so I will do that and maybe have more to say later.

I found this interview with Squarepusher to be a good read. Apparently, this new album is produced on music software that he developed for his own personal use because Tom Jenkinson is the kind of boundary pushing musician that can even feel boxed in just by using widely utilized musical tools.

That one track sounded like a lot of Video game noises, Glitch and some Gabba Hardcore with a sprinkle of Dub Step influence..on acid.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

A few more from the Music Choice "Sounds Of The (Off)Season" channel. When they're not doing holiday themed stuff, this MC channel switches to The Pulse, which is mainly light-sounding electronic fare (it's always good when they do Boards of Canada, for example!). This period of the year is the longest time that The Pulse segment stays on the air, it used to be from July 4th to mid September, but they added Christmas in July, Labor Day weekend, and music for 9/11.

So anyway, now is the best time to listen to SOTS because this will be it for the rest of the year when mid September hits, it won't return to this segment until after the holiday season. Here's some good stuff I heard in the past couple of weeks.

Dzihan & Kamien - Where's Johny Sabatino

Eli Escobar - Oslo

Language Lab - Burning Disaster
