Right, so, any recommendations? So far I've liked Electric Wizard, St. Vitus, Trouble, Reverend Bizarre, and a couple of others. I'm not looking for anything particularly slow, just something that pulls that mellow yet heavy and dark feeling. I especially like the stuff that sounds 70's style/"retro". I'm perfectly fine with stoner stuff, that works too. Or Psychedelic.

Also, anything that would fit into funk/psychedelic/stoner/country-rock stuff would be recommended, but more appropriate for PM. (I know Blue Cheer, Cream, etc.)

I'm not crazy about "traditional doom" but you should certainly check out Candlemass (especially the first four albums), Solitude Aeturnus, Lake of Tears, and Acrimony.

I haven't got into doom, but I do like some psychadelic/ambient/ds black metal. Nachtmystium and Xasthur are my favorites
Black DSi, Pink GBC, Softmodded Wii, Softmodded Fat Ps2, Black Gamecube, Xbox, Dreamcast, Ps1 Slim, Atomic Purple GBC, Onyx GBA SP, Gears of War 3 Edition Xbox 360 Slim, PSP 3000, NES.

What about Witchfinder General?

I also really like Ghost, and their second album is coming out soon, Infestissumam. But I do really like their first album, Opus Eponymous, especially songs like Ritual, Con Clavi Con Dio, and Elizabeth. Here's Ritual:

Also, I've been listening to Meshuggah's album Koloss lately. Marrow is a song that I particularly like. Someone asked for a song to check out, so there's one.

And there is always at least one Amon Amarth album in my car. Right now Twilight of the Thunder Gods is in, but I had to pull out my copy of Surtur Rising to put it in.

Yay, another Amon Amarth fan!!

Probably my favorite melodeath band. JH is easier to understand than most,(at least, I think) so I have a bit of a preference for AA over some other melodeath bands.
