I also got Pac-Man and whichever Mario is the exclusive. Those two came from a friend for $15.

Re: Amiibo!!
I found a Ness too, he was on my 8/16bit list of things I'd like, just not a priority. Now I'm up to 5 of the things on my desk. I like how he stands there just pointing with that blank stare and smile...it's like cartoony evil.

Re: Amiibo!!
Well now I'm just annoyed
The stores I called claimed they received about 4 Ness amiibo (if that). They said they didn't get any of the others, such as King Dedede.
Then today I see this:
http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/games/sup ... dle/123435
It appears GameStop took some portion of the restock and decided to only let them go bundled with Smash Wii U and a GameCube adapter for $106.
There's nothing at all shady about bundling a hot item to get people to spend more, nope, nothing at all.

They did something similar when Majora's Mask went on Pre-order. Instead of just selling all of the Limited Editions of the games by themselves, they bundled some of them with the hardcover guide. I ended up getting it because, hey, I wanted the game and the figure, and that was the only way that was going to happen, but I will agree that such practices are very annoying.Cronozilla wrote:There's nothing at all shady about bundling a hot item to get people to spend more, nope, nothing at all.
Though, on a more positive note on the amiibo front, I happen to go into Gamestop today to see if they had a game I wanted (It was in a generic case. Boo!), and lo and behold, they actually had a Ness chillin' on one of the racks. That new acquisition now whittles my amiibo want-list down to two: Lucina and Falcon.... At least until the new wave comes out. Damn it, Nintendo.

Re: Amiibo!!
I remember that.
At the least, that bundle, though, was when the thing initially came out, so it would make sense if people wanted to pick up the whole thing. It wasn't a restock bundled with it 8 months later.

Re: Amiibo!!
I picked up a Ness at Game Stop when they restocked so I could open up an extra and use it in the game. I was a bit suprised how many they actually got. Very few DeDeDe.
I did break down and finally import some Amiibo just because the restocks have been pretty limited locally.
I missed the target thing all together.

if you have a smartphone and are serious about amiibo collecting. then I recommend the wechat app, we have a general chat, us alerts, and international alerts. I also use twitter and receive alerts from amiibo alerts, although some things they post are not always preorder or instock alerts.
Re: Amiibo!!
True. And I was planning on getting the book anyway, but if they hadn't done that, than I might have been able to get the LE by itself and pick up the book later when it went down a bit in price, which it has.Cronozilla wrote:I remember that.

...Or I could have missed out on the LE entirely. The world will never know.
I have yet to see a Dedede (or an Ike. Wasn't he supposed to be restocked too, or was that my imagination?) on a shelf. I thought for sure he and Metaknight wouldn't be too hard to get since the new Kirby game was coming out. But I totally bet on the wrong horse on that front.Mechblue wrote:Very few DeDeDe.

Re: Amiibo!!
I saw an Ike once. At a GameStop a dude was picking one up he asked them to hold for him. (Base on my last few posts in this thread ... figure that one out)
Re: Amiibo!!
I have Ness. I got one finally! Now I have the original 12 Super Smash Brothers characters. All that's left is Ganondorf and Totakeke, until Nintendo drops the bombs us again and releases more must-have sets.
