I own Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus, Shape Boxing 2 and Billy's Boot Camp. I also have Super Mario Galaxy, Hoshi no Kirby Wii, Skyward Sword and other "regular" games. I like them all.
I've never said this before, but my most played Wii game is actually Shape Boxing 2. It's very fun and a great workout.

You've mentioned it a few times.

Nope. I never before said that it was my most played Wii game.
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
I'm with you on how good the Wii is. Don't get me wrong. I'm a HUGE fan of the Kirby games, New SMB, DKC Returns, etc. (except that you cannot under any circumstance whatsoever change the control scheme in Donkey Kong.... ah Nintendo)
I just think that a lot of these games get missed. They cost $50 or whatever, and next to the bin with the dance games and the party games, grandma just isn't buying them. The price of the Wii is kind of a major factor in what sells the system. If the Wii-U comes out @ $349? More? Then why wouldn't the family buy a PS3 with blu-ray for $249? Or a 360 with Kinect for the same?
I would love to see the numbers on New SMB or even Wii Fit, vs Call of Duty MW2 or 3 for the 360. (or any Wii game for that matter)

You should also look at lifetime sales. Historically the latest "hardcore" game tends to have very high first month sales which taper off very quickly, while most first party Nintendo releases have a very long tail of steady sales after the initial "just released" rush. This is why first party Nintendo games tend to take a long time to be discounted in a meaningful way by retailers; you put a game on sell to move more units, but if the units are moving at a good pace under the current price no reason to take a hit to your profits.

Nintendo has the name recognition. When you see Nintendo, you immediately think of video games.

Thats very true, and a good point. I wonder though, if Nintendo has more name recognition with gamers of our generation more so than younger gamers? I know a lot of pre-teen -> teenage kids that live and breathe Xbox. Microsoft has made it a household name. Almost as much as Nintendo. These same kids don't even know what a Genesis is. LOL.
It will be interesting to see where Nintendo takes this. I'm excited to try out some of my Wii games in upscaled HD (if the rumors hold true) Anyone who has played New SMB in Dolphin at 720p knows what I'm talking about. Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess look amazing in HD resolutions.
Re: Nintendo: Project Cafe - Wii U
Skyward Sword does not look good upscaled. Its horrible. Look at that sky, there's so many lines, and I'm using a quality Faroudja upscaler, not my TV.

I'm speaking more along the lines of what Dolphin does with PC hardware. Other upscaling options can't compete. And seeing as how Dolphin is running the software just like the Wii would, but dealing with the graphics a different way, it would be super easy (hard?) for them to build the Wii-U to accomplish this.
