Re: Video Pinball
Really enjoyed my first foray into Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire (Ruby table). Exceeded my expectations and I'm not a Pokemon guy in the least (never played a game).
Re: Video Pinball
I picked up Flipnic recently for the PS2. It's an interesting twist on pinball games where you have multiple tables connected with runways, and some additional pinball related minigames. It's an ambitious concept of trying to do something different with pinball that only a video pinball game would be able to do, but the results are mixed. Some things are fun, others are kind of tedious, particularly the many animations between zones. It also feels like short attention span pinball because by the time you start to get used to one table, you've traveled to another one. Well, that's my initial impression anyway. I didn't play for very long.

I miss PBA. Shucks, I haven't purchased a table since High Speed. I'm so behind!

Addams Family -- need we say more? Already completed the standard goals.
TPA could stop putting out tables after this and I'd still be satisfied.
But they're not.
Cyclone next month, and somewhere this season -- High Speed II!!!!!

Re: Video Pinball
They announced the Getaway? I thought they had issues with ZZ Top.
My college arcade had two pinball "slots." One always had Twilight Zone or Addams Family, the other had Whitewater or The Getaway. I have TZ, TAF, and Whitewater on my phone version of Pinball Arcade. Soon I will carry 4 of the 5 pinball machines I have the most time on in real life in my pocket, Rocky and Bullwinkle is the last one.
As for Addams Family, it is actually not my favorite Pat Lawlor table - Twilight Zone eclipsed it in my mind, and Whirlwind is pretty perfect. But it is an amazing table that I am very terrible at. I need to get better at nudging since the power likes to drop balls right down the middle for me.

Re: Video Pinball
The story goes that someone had to reinstall the PC version of TPA and when they did it tried to download Earthshaker, Starship Troopers, Addams Family, and The Getaway. This was before these other tables were even released so the game had placeholders for these tables before they were announced. I hate speculation but it seems to be confirmed on the TPA fan forums somewhere.fastbilly1 wrote:They announced the Getaway? I thought they had issues with ZZ Top.
