I still consider Max Payne 3 one of the best TPS even one generation onward , the fact part of it happens here in Brazil is a plus on top of it.
Back on MP1 i have to say, disabling auto-center, aim assist and put vertical and horizontal sensitivity made the game a lot more enjoyable and close to the pc experience (I'm currently playing it on PS4).

You guys who are praising Max Payne, how do you feel the series compares to the game Stranglehold?

I own the PC box edition but never got around to play it, but i think it can come close , if much, gameplay-wise, but i highly doubt it can beat MP plot and presentation.

Given that I have not played Stranglehold, I must say that Max Payne is infinitely better.

Put 2 hours last night on Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and enjoyed it alot, what a feast to the eyes, Yu Suzuki really put some work on it and it really feels like an evolution of VF2.
Don't get me wrong, i personally love Virtua Fighter 3tb on Dreamcast but the removal of sidestep button and smaller arenas makes VF4 Evo LIGHTING FAST.
Played a couple of arcade runs with Sarah and AOI and now i'm focusing on the Quest mode, how addicting is to grind for itens and money!

Today i ended Part I of max payne and it gets dark and creppy but i'm loving it more and more.

Oh man, VF4 was where I cemented my love for Lau. All things offense, all the time! I eventually dressed him in white with a chef's hat, ladle, and wok. The Iron Chef dominated. Good times.

VF4 will be my palate cleanser this year, i can easily see myself grinding for items for a long time, does anybody know how arcade perfect is VF4?

I can easily understand now why they implemented aim-assist for Max Payne on consoles, i had to enable it for the last part because i was getting mauled non-stop by those commandos.I think that it was too much trial and error but overall i'm very glad that i finished it, AMAZING game that clearly has aged but nonetheless must be experienced by every TPS fan.

.Virtua Racing (1994)
.Mega Man X4 (1997)
.Carmageddon (1997)
.Diablo II (2000)
.Castlevania Chronicles (2001)
.Max Payne (2001) - 05/13/2018
.Contra: Shattered Soldier (2002)
.Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution (2003)
.Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (2003)
.Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst (2005)

I'm so into the whole atmosphere that i'm seriously considering switching Mega Man X4 with Max Payne 2  :)
