I wish I had more time for Change Air Blade. That will be a highlight of this year's SOTM.
Final scores for Change Air Blade will be updated later today for our westerners.
But now we move on to R-Type, with another Together Retro collaboration! Please post scores here if possible, but I'll watch both threads.

Re: Shmup of the Month Club 2016 (April - R-Type)
R-type sounds like fun. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to play it. I don't own any physical copies of R-type, so I guess I'm going to need to figure out an emulation solution. Gameboy color and SMS are easy to emulate, so I may start there. I think I have a horde of gameboy and Master System ROMs somewhere...
Ultimately, MAME must be the way to go. I've never gotten MAME running. I'll need to refer back to fastbilly's front page article from 2012.

DocHauser - 252,100 - Stage 6 - Shmupmame 4.2
No-missed the first five stages, lost five lives in quick succession on Stage 6. Derp.
I think my previous best was reaching the Stage 6 boss without dying. It's not an easy stage to recover a run after losing a life. Actually, you could probably say that about any stage from Stage 4 onwards...

Dammit the PC Engine version has no way to show the score after your game is over. Not a fan of emulation but it looks like I'll have to play the arcade version if I want to show a score.

Kidpanda - 264,800 - Stage ? - PCB
