Re: My Blog: 366 Games To Play Before You Die
Fire Pro Wrestling D is one I've had on my "want" list for a while. I've always heard really great things about that particular title. re: the series, I played a bunch of the original JP PSX game, but found myself more daydreaming about future releases than actually playing them. On paper they sounded so awesome. I think the language barrier and having to put work into figuring them out vs. accessibility of other games held me back. I have a pretty good smattering in my collection:
Fire Pro Wrestling 3: Legend Bout for the PC Engine
Fire Pro Wrestling S: Six Man Scramble for the Saturn
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns for the PS2 (awesome that we got a domestic release)
Fire Pro Wrestling 1 and 2 for the Game Boy Advance (still a bit surreal we got not one, but TWO western portable releases).

Re: My Blog: 366 Games To Play Before You Die
In what is one of the most bizarre instances I can ever recount in Western releases ever, here in Europe, Fire Pro Wrestling Returns for the PS2 was ONLY released in Italy (or was it France?). I'm serious. A lot of people don't know this, but it got a PAL, European release, but only in one country. As a result, it's crazy rare and expensive here.
Anyways, I ended up getting Fire Pro Wrestling Returns a couple of years back on the PS3, but I had to set up a US PSN account to do it.
Fire Pro Wrestling D is the only one I've really played in detail. I've had it for aaaaages. There's an English patch out for it now too, which is great, because I just used to have to memorise all the options.
I'd be interested to hear what the Saturn one is like (6 man scramble), if you've played it much?

FPW Returns being released as a PS2 classic on PS3 is also a bit of a head scratcher but cool nonetheless. If that ever goes on sale to $1.99 I'd snag another avenue to play it (although it is pretty large 4.4 gb).
I picked up Six Man Scramble, I think, at a convention. I haven't played it, and the FAQs out there are pretty old (nothing past 97 - it was releasd in 96!). At least there are translations.
D having an English patch now leads me to consider burning that one (which breaks a habit of just having original releases after having tons of burns for years) then since it's unique.

Another Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers game? Why not? It's Street Fighter, but with giant fighting megazords.

I don't know about the SNES game, but I loved the GG fighting game.

The SNES fighter originated the engine they later used for Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.noiseredux wrote:I don't know about the SNES game, but I loved the GG fighting game.
It's pretty fantastic.

I only played the Power Rangers Movie game on the Game Gear, but I remember loving it. Then again, I was like 7 years old.noiseredux wrote:I don't know about the SNES game, but I loved the GG fighting game.
