Hey thanks for following kidpanda. The stream is experiencing some issues, due in part to my daughter being sick and teething. I planned on doing a bunch tonight but she has been incredibly fussy. We are seeing the doctor tomorrow to make sure that nothing else is the culprit. Poor thing. Once that is all settled the stream will be back in fill 1080p glory!

41,863,270 - Lazer - 8bit Meat Lazers - Stage 3 - Palm(Abn) - 360

I can beat the stage 2 boss without bombs, but I usually use one just to be safe. I also use one bomb on the stage 3 mini-boss if I get that far. I am usually so excited to be at stage 3 with all of my lives, that I get nervous and make a few stupid mistakes early. But I think i am starting to figure out the giant land beetles that appear from the right and left. It's all about keeping your cool with this game.

damn nice job lazer. I need to get back in with fresh eyes. I got too frustrated - again, feel I should be better than I am. So I play too aggressive, never bomb, etc.

Beyond that they are completely different.

DS requires activating your hyper and timing it well; ie in the first half of the stage or sooner, and on a level 2 or 3 preferred to ensure more bullets and enemies. Once your 1,000 gem meter runs down to 0 you have to build it up again from 0.

Mushi - there is no hyper, rather a running and building multiplier. That multiplier builds faster with bigger gems and collecting them closest to their location. The multiplier lowers a bit with bombing and lowers significantly with dying.

I totally forgot about the 1000 item limit and hyper mode in DS. It's been a year!

I'm glad to see Bogus got it running. The forums were down for a long time on Sunday and I was trying to get a PM off, I eventually did.

As for 100 million out of me, unsure at this point. I like the hitbox in this game, easy to work through a lot of bullets. Maybe need to change character too.

Thanks, that 10 million increase was tough. Took a lot out of me. This game is making me experience new emotions that I didn't know existed.

You never bomb? That's impressive. I always get nervous on the stage 2 boss's second form. Gotta bomb.

24,228,891 - TSTR - MULLET HELL - STAGE 3 - RECO (NORMAL) - 360

Not too bad for not having played this very much in depth before tonight. Got to the point tonight where I can no-miss, no-bomb Stage 1. If I can clean up my Stage 2 act, this should improve. I should probably also mess around with some other characters to see if I like them better, since I went Ryu Syndrome here.

This game is gorgeous and I love the soundtrack. I also really dig the whole shot-switching aspect for score, trying to balance an eye on the action and an eye on the counter is a fun challenge. Wish my gaming setup was more conducive to playing in TATE, like it should be played.

I would encourage everyone to listen to the soundtrack on stage 5. One of the very best of all CAVE games. Credit feed if you have to - so so good.

If you are struggling on some bosses - try switching characters or shot types. For example if using Palm, his normal shot gets you better range, but it is not as powerful. Midbosses and bosses can take LITERALLY, twice as long to defeat. The stages themselves are a little more difficult, but the bosses are easier if you use the Abnormal shot.

This is not an easy game by any stretch. Just keep plugging at it. Glad to see such good turnout and discussion.
