Some steam games I believe aren't friendly to the internet being disabled for them.
And sure Steam has auto update, but I guess it comes down to what is more important to each person. Auto updating vs actually owning the game and downloading an installer plus all the additional content they often tack onto things too (scanned books, manuals, other cards, etc, desktop images, music...)
Had I known about a month later all those Ys games were going to hit GoG I would have waited, not happy they're stuck on Steam. GoG does one of those 75-80% off deals I'm swapping out.
