How's everyone else getting on? I'm stuck on the Blood-Starved Beast at the moment. Admittedly, I've only tried once, but I only got his health down to just below the half way mark before I died and I used nearly all of my blood vials. Damn. At first he seemed really fairly easy, but then he suddenly started kicking my ass.

I read that he's supposed to be easier than Father Gascoigne, but I don't really see it. i defeated Father Gascoigne on my second attempt and didn't really find him too much trouble. Maybe it's because I leveled up shit loads, whilst a lot of people don't realise you can level up before defeating the boss.

So yeah, any advice or strategies for taking down the Blood Starved Beast?

So are Demon's Souls / Dark Souls / Dark Souls II / Bloodborne all essentially one series?

Effectively. I'd say Bloodborne does do some diverging from the others due to the replacement of shields with the offhand gun for stunning enemies. But it still feels very familiar.

That's for the clarification.

Seems like many of the From Software games are linked in some way.

What have you learned about ordering from non-Amazon places?

Yeah, they're all essentially part of the same series in terms of the gameplay. That's similar enough that they're practically sequels. Though it's important to note that Demon's Souls story and universe are separate from Dark Souls 1/2 which are also separate from Bloodborne.

Though ironically, the stories of each game are so intentionally vague and open to interpretation that many people try to come up with idea's to connect them. I myself have a pretty good theory that I'm proud to say I came up with myself that puts Demon's Souls into the same universe as Dark Souls, and it actually makes Dark a prequel to Demon's. It's only fancanon, but it's close enough to water tight for my standards that I like it.

A lot of the story is in item description and talking to NPCs and some information doesn't even come out until NG+ or sometimes even NG++. You don't need to make up too much story, it is there if you dig.
