I have no idea how anyone could not like Frog  His theme song alone makes him a worthwhile character.

Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy VI
Secret of Mana
Skyrim/Oblivion
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night*

*I consider this an RPG because of the leveling, inventory system, equiping items, exploration of an open map, etc.

Oooof....You must be a sucker for punishment!

.....

I need to modify my list since I left DQ off it - sorry Secret of Mana! - so my list, again in alphabetical order, is now:

Dragon Quest IX
Final Fantasy VI
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Panzer Dragoon Saga

(Luckily for Mario & Luigi, I still am not counting Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but I can see how some people would classify it as an RPG.)

Now that you mention Dragon Quest IX I need to fit that somewhere in my list, making a top 5 is too difficult

You want punishment, try doing DQII without save states.

Where are Fallout and Fallout 2, Arcanum, Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Anachronox, Betrayal at Krondor? Might & Magic, The Bard's Tale, Gothic, Daggerfall? Stonekeep? The Witcher?

You guys need to play more western RPGs.
