Games Acquired 2014
Re: Games Acquired 2014
Picked up a loose copy of Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits(PS2) yesterday for $2. Never really played any of the games in the series but have always been interested in checking it out.

Dubious reputation aside, and based on my own collection, I'd be inclined to believe that anything UFO publishes is worth picking up. Let me know if that's the case with this one.prfsnl_gmr wrote:and...

It is actually quite fun. I just played the "story" mode through level 36, and it is a basic puzzle game that plays like Tetris Attack (a/k/a Panel de Pon a/k/a Pokemon Puzzle League) in reverse and draws artistic inspiration from Namco's Katamari Damacy. Moreover, I enjoyed playing it with the "pointer" controls more than I did playing it with the "traditional" controls; so, it is a great fit for the Wii. (It was also recently marked down at Gamestop from $10 to $5; so, if you are interested, I suggest picking it up.)pierrot wrote:Dubious reputation aside, and based on my own collection, I'd be inclined to believe that anything UFO publishes is worth picking up. It wasn't too bad. That's not all I got, but I went in with $180 in cash. I left with $3.ZeroAX wrote:Someone went on a spending spreeCronozilla wrote:I was able to take some cash to the PRGE Swap Meet today. This is some of what I got. Half are games I got boxes or manuals for and was able to complete, half are new-for-me bought in box.
Spoiler for sizeI also snagged a couple Crash games, Spryo, WarioLand, and Jade Empire. As well as some other manuals I was missing.
I'm going to have to start making lists of Nintendo Powers I'm missing too, a lot of people were selling them $1 an issue. I grabbed Mario 64's guide for $1, and the 100th issue of NP for like $3. Not too bad, all in all.
I'm mostly just still in awe of how many boxed NES games I have. For years I only had like four, now I have thirteen.
Re: Games Acquired 2014
Got this one about a week ago:

And this came yesterday:

Been meaning to get back into the AC series, and I can think of no better way to do that than a threesome combo which includes two games I haven't played yet.
And with my hatred for digital media growing by the day, I've decided to stop buying my PS1 games off of PSN. Now I'm going for a nice PS1 physical collection. CIB and Black Label only of course.
EDIT: Also would like to mention some irony I just thought of. FF7 was the first game that originally convinced me to get my PS1 games from PSN, due to the huge prices the game fetches online. Now it's the first game I've gone and bought to start my physical collection with.

I found Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake for $4.99 at K-Mart today. Snagged it right up, it looks like tons of fun.
They also had the LocoRoco and Patapon games for $5 each as well. Anyone know if those are any good? I left them there today, but I may pick up a couple next week if they're still on the shelves.
I also found the Sega Classics Collection (PS2) at a local record store. I had no idea this was a compilation of Sega Ages remakes - I figured the games were Genesis or arcade ports. I've only played a bit of Golden Axe so far - trust me, it's bad.
Re: Games Acquired 2014
I've played LocoRoco for the PSP, it's a platformer with "get larger as you pick stuff up" elements kinda like a 2D Katamari, but the platforming make it feel very different. I'd recommend it.
