Bomb it with grenades. Every grenade will give you enough time to get to the next level, rinse and repeat until you are at the top.

I have passed that part and found a crap-load of soldiers again... I am overpowered and gave up for the night after a couple tries. This is why I dislike FPS.

Yeah, those things are attracted to sound, so explosions draw them away. That said, you can also crouch and walk at the same time if you really want to do it the hard way.

 Now that's a shame. I would have been playing it on the DC had it been released.

Anyways, I thought after the first 2 parts/missions/levels, this game started out very slow. But once you get to the office complex, it opens up a lot more. One thing I'm not used to seeing is scientists/guards/NPCs getting dragged into vents, falling off ladders, and all kinds of death scenes. It makes it more cinematic than any FPS I've ever played. I'm now on part/level/mission 5, the Blast Pit.

I also thought the second number at the bottom was the power remaining for the flashlight, but that is the armor value for the HEV

One complaint I do have, you have to lock in a weapon choice by clicking once on the mouse. That is very counter-intuitive! Even with a weapon that has 2 in one slot!

At any rate, enjoying this even more now.

I find this game really hard to describe if you don't know proper names of stuff, but here goes. I got past the tentacle (thanks SB & Ack) and found myself climbing up this long ladder. I avoided a rogue basket conveyor thing. Climbed up more. Hit a button and then climbed over the other shit of the silo (I presume) to hit one more button and then weird like robotic arms that look like they came out the T-1000 come out the wall and fucking kill me. :|

Ah, Blast Pit. I thought you meant you had finished Blast Pit and gone on to later levels. Did those arms come out of a wall and shoot electricity to a giant generator hanging in the middle of the room? And was there a scientist hanging on this generator?
