I don't know how to prove that I started at level 0 other than in my original post, but here's a one of my best scores I just spent the better part of a half hour working on.

Updated! No worries santanime, I will take your word for it that you started at 0. Nice score BTW, gonna be hard for anyone to beat that.

Thanks a bunch! Tetris has always been one of my passions and it's by far my best game.

Here's my girlfriend's score she got earlier this evening. I, uh, guess it can go under like this?

Tetris (GB) - o.pwuaioc's gf - 132,753

Lol, you got it! I almost blew my previous DX score away last night, I had 260,000 on the board, with a perfect stack almost to the top waiting for the line pieces, well they never came, and when I plugged the well, the line piece finally showed up, but at that point it was too late :(

I know how you feel. Was there some sort of line piece shortage when this game was made?!? What the f do I have to do to get a line piece?! And yes, I know that sounds dirty!

I hear you guys. I get through it by putting pieces in the gap to stall until the holy line piece descends. You have to get lucky and pray that it doesn't come down until you open up the gap again. I find L-blocks are the best for stalling.

So I have been meaning to post this and get some strategies and stuff from you guys. When I am playing, I obviously stack to the left or right and throw line pieces to get the Tetris, what happens to me often, is that I am stacking along, and I get a piece that just doesnt fit, and I am stuck with a little gap. Along comes the line piece and I drop it, only getting 3 lines. Now that third line that has a gap in it is at the bottom. At this point I either try to just stack ontop of it, or I try to clear out my lines and get rid of the one on the bottom.

My problem is that all of that can take quite a few lines to clear out, and I spend a lot of time dropping one or two lines to get them out of the way, and before I know it, I have leveled up to 15 or so, and my score is shit because I wasnt getting tetris's the whole time.

What do you guys do in this situation? do you keep on stacking? clear them out? What do you do when you get that one piece that just doesnt fit the stack you have going? (Im looking at you zig zag pieces!)

On a game that I dont have to spend a long time clearing out pieces, I get way better scores, other games it feels like I spend the whole time just getting one or 2 lines to get it back to how it should be.

I as well try to make tetrises when i play. I leave a gap in either side for the long piece.

If a piece has no place to fit right, I place it close to the same edge where i eventually put the long piece.

When I get the long piece, and place it, i no longer get a tetris, just 3 lines. But since its close to the edge, I can use another piece to fix the gap.

Also early in the game you still have a few seconds to adjust the piece into other gaps
