While the N64 doesnt have anything worth importing, i can enjoy all its glory right here in murica!
Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 and 2, Sin and Punishment, Rakuga Kids, SD Hiryū no Ken Densetsu...

N64's definitely got its fair share of worthy imports.
That Cartridge slot has always confused the hell out of me on the Saturn, id rather just plop in a CD or Cart and go to town, or have some universal expansion pack that works with everything, ive always considered Sega stuff more gimmicky than Nintendo, look at the mess the Sega CD/32X/Genesis was, and if i never own a Sega CD or 32X i wont miss any sleep.

And on the N64 imports, i can live without them, not a fan of wrestling, there is Sin and Punishment on the Wii, and those other 2 are fighting games, which im not a fan of.

If you have that AR cart you literally can just plug it in and never take it out again.

The 3D pad is ok... and the DC controller has grown on me quite a bit. But yeah, the Saturn v2 pad is just F'ing amazing. It's gotta be my favorite controller of all time now. Just perfect.

You should look into getting one of those Ascii pads for your DC man. They are so great for 2D games.

AGH! That's right. I have a more generic import-loader cart, but I forgot the AR can also be a RAM cart. I should def keep my eye out for one.

That said, I know there are tons of great Sat imports, but it is baffling to me why people seem to think the US library is lacking good games. I have about 30 Sat games and only 3 or 4 of them are imports so far. Now admittedly maybe a third of my Sat collection is sports games I found on the cheap, but still... I've already found plenty of great games in the US library (Nights, D, Shining Wisdom, Nightstalkers, Virtua Fighter/Fighting Vipers/Fighting Megamix, Daytona, Sega Rally, etccccc) that weren't even expensive to get a hold of.

I really want one, I think I might actually pick up more DC games if I had one!

Yeah, the US Saturn library is definitely underrated. If only I'd go actually pick up some more of them...

At this point, if i stumble upon Saturn/Sega CD/32X for ultra cheap in the wild, ill get them, but its not something i pursue, ill just wait for ports to places like Steam/PSN/Nintendo E-Shop/Xbox Marketplace.

If nothing else you should pick 'em up as trade fodder. I'm sure plenty of people on here would be willing to buy them.

Ill keep that in mind, i had a 3DO and tried to enjoy it, but the best games were too expensive and the best games werent very good imo, so if i do get a Saturn ill try and do what i can with it, but i wont be buying Panzer Dragoon Saga .

What id really like is a TurboGrafx setup, also verying confusing to me, considering it has more than 1 name in different countries, just like the Genesis is the Megadrive and the SNES is the SFC, and the NES is the FC....

Turbografx is really a super cool system, but games are hard to come by in the wild and many of them are expensive.

The addons like the CD and whatnot are SUPER crazy expensive.

I think the reason the N64 always gets so bashed is that it has terrible variety. The system has great party games, platformers, and the Rare shooters, but it is completely lacking in any arcade-style shooters or fighters, or RPGs... which happen to be 3 genre's that I notice a lot of people here enjoy.

I would safely say that the PS1's platformers, multiplayer games, and 1st/3rd person shooters are way, way above the N64's shmups, fighters, and rpgs. So with the PS1 you got a ton of great games in some genres, and a decent amount of good games in the rest. With the N64, you were pretty much limited to what it did well.

I still think its a system worth owning, as there are some pretty awesome games on it, but I just don't think it can hold its own to the variety of the Playstation.

I would put the Saturn at the bottom for this generation personally.

Lots of fantastic 2D action games and a ton of interesting quirky/oddball titles you can't get anywhere else and some of the best arcade ports of its generation, especially when you begin looking into imports.

I'd say its at least on par with N64 in terms of library, even if the areas it excels in are completely different.
