Can not stress how much this excites me. People can complain about Kickstarter all they like, but it has been responsible for the funding of the games I truly wanted, but felt would never be possible. The continuation of, The Longest Journey, Chris Roberts coming back with an epic space flight sim, a new game in the Quest For Glory Universe and now this.
Doug TenNapel and his team is to me what Ray Harryhausen was to a generation of film lovers.

One of the guys from HG101 is trying to get a book funded. He's planning to go to Japan, and using his extensive network of contacts, hunt down and interview as many Japanese developers as possible.
A lot of what happened in game development in Japan is kinda a mystery to us, which is a shame considering how important Japanese game development is to the console gaming scene. A book like this could shed a lot of light on the development of some of our favorite games and provide us with a lot of new insight.
