was a good idea, somewhat entertaining to me. i knew it wasn't going to be that much of a horror movie when i seen the two older guys from adam sandler movies in it. nice satire anyway. i had no idea what the movie was about before watching except there was a twist. didn't expect it to happen from the get go though. kind of ruined the horror aspect to me.

It should have been a tentacle, not a hand!!!

...but what a brilliant movie.

Oh, I agree.
That's what I was expecting too. Especially when I saw that slithering thing below that alter. Was really expecting Cthulhu, or hell, a Kraken even. Something with serpent attributes. Instead we got a... Titan I guess?

I always took the ending of Cabin as an homage to the Raimi horror movies where that one hand always comes back...Almost spoofing a spoof if you will. If I could change anything in the film it would be saving Weaver's voice until she is on screen. As soon as you hear her voice you know who it is, which spoils a great bit.

The cycle jump isn't the greatest idea either, but it works on a comedic level.

That's a very good point. Any horror movie fan could pinpoint her voice in seconds. It probably would have been better to let someone else speak, or disguise her voice somehow with static interference or something.

And I know that cycle jump is played for laughs and all. I mean, unless you weren't paying attention earlier you know exactly what's going to happen. It's just that the more I think about it, the more it stands out to me compared to the other scenes. Almost like they saved those certain scenes for the end of production and didn't realized til then that they'd spent most of their money on all the awesome monster effects.

I watched Maniac last night on Noise's suggestion. It was strange and creepy at points (eyeball eating!) but overall ridiculously corny and (at times) confusing. The Poe references were somewhat interesting and the title cards set the tone well, but I can't see going back to this one unless it would be for a MST3K type of viewing.

Aha! I just realized noise must have meant the 1980 film. I watched the 1934 film. I'm an OG, d00d.

what? Are you serious? Maybe you just don't like horror movies. What exactly was confusing about it?
