Were both of you gamers before or did one of you convert the other?
Hi this is Steph, the old ball and chain responding. Believe it or not, we were both gamers before hand. I have been gaming since I was 5, starting with the Sega Genesis. My dad was in the Navy and we were stationed over seas in Japan for 10 years. Being an only child, my parents had to keep me entertained somehow and video games became the solution. Some of my earliest memories of childhood was playing with the Menacer light gun, and my mom always getting the highest score on Ready Aim Tomatoes. I also remember getting my ass handed to me on Aladin, I never was able to pass through the cave of wonders as a kid.

My great love though was the Nintendo 64. I still remember the first time I saw it in action with good old Mario 64, I had never seen anything so real looking in all my 8 years of life. Being an only child, and being a girl, my dad almost ALWAYS bought me what ever video game I wanted(I think to encourage this "masculine" hobby). This resulted in an abundance of N64 games, any PC game I ever asked for, and a PS2 that started my addiction to RPG's. And that's where I was when my husband and I first met. Playing Final Fantasy X2 trying to get the perfect ending (still) and working my way up to expert mode on guitar hero.

We have both come a long way since then. He has shown me a lot of the FPS world, where as the only FPS I loved was the No one lives forever series. And I've shown him a lot of RPG's, literally, he sits there and watches me play.

Did you ask people to come dressed as characters, or did they just do that? The woman as Claire was awesome with her little shoulder dagger. :)
We asked people to come dress up if they wanted. it was a last minute idea we wish we had done since the beginning. But it turned out well =D

Welcome! Feel free to create your own account and join in the discussions. I think there are at least 2 other couples in this forum.
