Re: RAYFORCE / GALACTIC ATTACK / LAYER SECTION - Hi-Scores
Stage 5 is actually one of the easiest stages IMO. It's fast paced, but very predictable and it has almost as many chaining possibilities as the final stage. Very easy to rack up a high score. It's a very nice change of pace after the bitch that is Stage 4.
Pro Tip #1: Hit R (or is it L?) when playing the Saturn version in noTATE. It hides your score and gives you a little more visibility.
Pro Tip #2: Don't fuck around with the boss in Stage 4. Just stay in the bottom right corner and shoot both of it's right legs off. With only two legs holding on to one side, the boss will immediately fall into the abyss. You may not net as many points this way, but you should make up for it in easy breezy stage 5.

And yes, Stage 5 is pretty damn easy. It's getting by level 4 that presents issues.
Stage 6 is an absolute bitch of a level.

I have never 1cc'd my way to Stage 6. The Stage 5 boss always does me in. Though, I came really close to taking him down today.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Oh it's on pal.

The biggest problem with Stage 6 is that they don't give you any room to move. So many environmental obstacles.

Every attempt got worse after the first one. I'll try again tomorrow.
You win for now Wip3outguy.

Nice one! I'm sure you'll overtake me next time.
I hate cold play syndrome. At least, that's what I call it. I will fire up a shmup and have an outstanding run after a short warmup. Every play afterward gets worse and worse.

Yep, happens to the best of us. The best way to avoid it is to play with friends. Take turns and rotate to other shmups if possible. It keeps you fresh and you will get better, faster.
