no doubt, but I think game culture can/should be better than that. Again, I don't want to derail this thread so I'd invite folks to check out the thread I linked to above to continue the discussion there.

Everyone else carry on with the sexy ladies.

Figured I'd better get that one out there. One of the greatest villains in videogames.

But is it... a she?

GlaDOS WHO?

She's gorgeous, obviously, but she's also a Norse goddess. She has time for girly things like braiding her hair, and...having feelings...but she's also someone who absolutely shouldn't be trifled with. She's a goddess of fate who chooses the souls of slain warriors to train them to fight in Ragnarok. She's firm in her convictions, she's terrifying in battle, and she speaks in poetry.

"Defiler of souls! Your sins lay heavy upon you!"
I like this choice!

Vanessa Z. Schneider from P.N.03.

A strong female protagonist who, you could say, really works for herself.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

My suggestion of Sister "Hammer" Hannah of Fable II got lost somewhere. She was after Roll and before Jill.

Oh, and here's another, who was already alluded to:
