I think the characters, male and female, in both film and games are portrayed as larger than life. They tend to exaggerate traits that society finds appealing,

no doubt, but I think game culture can/should be better than that. Again, I don't want to derail this thread so I'd invite folks to check out the thread I linked to above to continue the discussion there.

Lenneth Valkyrie from Valkyrie Profile. She's definitely my favorite female game character.



She's gorgeous, obviously, but she's also a Norse goddess. She has time for girly things like braiding her hair, and...having feelings...but she's also someone who absolutely shouldn't be trifled with. She's a goddess of fate who chooses the souls of slain warriors to train them to fight in Ragnarok. She's firm in her convictions, she's terrifying in battle, and she speaks in poetry.

"Defiler of souls! Your sins lay heavy upon you!"

I like this choice!
