Fun fact: That's why I made the comment. It is what is sometimes known as a "joke".

The people I disagree with are the ones with the money. It's either accept money from people I disagree with or have no money at all.dsheinem wrote:I didn't say "enter the system and start accepting lots of money from people you disagree with". If you aren't going to hold to your moral grounding from inside the system, than how strong can it really be?
The difference is that evangelicals and the tea party were movements that increased the power of the already powerful. You can't expect anti-authoritarian movements to use the same tactics as authoritarian movements successfully. The only two examples of successful political movements I can think of in the past 20 years are both right-wing: evangelicals and the tea party. Both of them started as "grass roots" but figured out how to get a seat at the big boy's table and affect actual policy and change.
The 1% will continue to snicker and decide things no matter what. Millions of people hoped for change in the last election, they bought into the lie that voting matters, and what did they get? Another slave to the 1%. Participating in this farce simply legitimizes it.Keep on believing that while the 1% continues to snicker and decide things.

The tea party movement was anti-authoriatarian. Are you seeking anarchy and complete elimination of any kind of institutionalized power? Good luck with that, and with getting rational minded people to come aboard. You can't expect anti-authoritarian movements to use the same tactics as authoritarian movements successfully.
So nothing that Obama promised to change has happened? I think there's some strong evidence against that, despite the fact that overall he's been less than progressive thus far. Anyone who believes lock, stock, and barrel in any politician's campaign promises is a fool, and anyone who thought Obama could change everything about the system was delusional. He's made slow progress on advancing a progressive agenda, and he's even taken a few steps back along the way, but slow progress is better than no progress. The 1% will continue to snicker and decide things no matter what. Just one of the many reasons I love living under the EU. You guys (in America) have zero rights as consumers.

I hope your protections are more to the credit of the UK than the EU. Otherwise who knows what rights you'll have in three weeks.Niode wrote:Just one of the many reasons I love living under the EU. You guys (in America) have zero rights as consumers.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Heck try obtaining a simple EU Megadrive here. I've asked around months, even had the unit I did attempt to order lost in the mail...Niode wrote:Just one of the many reasons I love living under the EU. You guys (in America) have zero rights as consumers.
No one takes the rarity of them in America seriously. Some part of the idea they were not released here due to Genesis, fails to quite register with people.
Still I'm keeping an eye on a few promising looking ebay units. They appear pretty often at that site.

It really does suck but you either play ball or don't. That is why I will never support DLC for this very reason. Gotta take the law into your own hands.
