As far as the technical specs go, yes, the DC is part of the PS2 generation. But when you look at the games themselves, it seems more like part of the PS1/N64 generation, and that's what I consider it a part of.
When you look at the sheer number of DC ports that went to Xbox, PS2, and GCN it's got almost nothing in common with the previous gen but a couple of half assed Capcom games ported to the PSX.[/quote]
Exactly.

The above paragraph was conceived without mentioning Mario, Zelda or Metroid... Food for thought.
Everything in bold I know is on another system as well, everything in red is not only on another system, but is superior there. MGS2 is not on GCN at all, only the first one.
Exactly, after taking out BoringSupreez's games that are on other systems and usually better, I'm left with Eternal Darkness that I like out of what's left, which is what I said. :P

Exactly, the sixth generation started in 1998 and ended in 2005 when the Xbox 360 was released.

The XBOX was released on November 15, 2001 and the last game for it was released in August 2008.

That's 7 years and 10 months. Not "what 2 years".

I'll try again:

Unless you HATE slightly inferior quality and multiplatform games, then you don't think the Gamecube sucks.

Okay good point, 2 years before it had any games worth owning besides a few. I mean as in production, not being supported by most likely crappy ports of game being released on current consoles.

In that case though the last game released by Sega for the Dreamcast was 2007 releases Trigger Heart Exelica and Karous. So it lasted 9 years.

Just to remind everyone, the Gamecube is indeed more powerful than the PS2 by a fair margin.

Also, Splinter Cell made use of the GBA link, so it may not have the fancy Xbox graphics, it has the most features. Also, almost all of the bold titles BS listed had their best versions on the Gamecube.

Does this look like a N64/PS1 quality game?

I see this brought up a lot but I never really saw it as a big thing. It doesn't have that much more muscle. Sure, there are a few games that really shine on the hardware, but generally the "more powerful than the PS2" thing is nothing to get excited about, especially on a retro game forum.

But the worse framerate, awkward controlls, and lack of multiplayer (for other people, not myself) more than cancels that GBA feature out.
