Ugh, that Christmas one. God, why did they have to do that to us?

I teared up at the end of Professor Layton and the Diabolical box. I won't spoil the ending, but I will say it is one of the most surprisingly emotional endings I've ever seen in a videogame.
Destructoid's memory card feature captures the moment perfectly:

The Darkness has one of the saddest moments I've seen in a game and also one of the most touching. Can't wait for the sequel

I remember that one. I was thinking "man, this game is supposed to be funny. Why are they doing this?"

I find this to be oft-stated but seldom believed.

I believe it to an extent. A lot of masculinity is about strength, both physical and emotional. I value and respect that, but it gets taken to ludicrous extremes where men think they need to be unfeeling robots that wouldn't even cry at their own mother's funeral, or they degrade into ape-men that want to settle all their battles with fists and grunts and testicle measurements. That stereotypical male brute thing is tired and lame. I prefer a man that can cry when appropriate, but still stand strong when that's what's called for. And if you aren't sensitive enough to others, then why would you care about peaceful resolution of conflict when you could just smash heads instead. Now, I don't think it's good to fall into a heap of tears whenever stress comes your way, but for God's sake don't be so goddamn ashamed to shed a tear every once and awhile. In the face of a culture that rewards ridiculous display of macho manliness, I think it actually takes more strength to show emotion than it does to close your heart and point at your balls.

I wholeheartedly agree!
