Non-Gamers Say The Darndest Things

I brought Super Mario World to a party since it's usually a hit with everyone. Popular, easy to play, major chick magnet, etc.

But last week I had to explain how it worked, to a 17 year old girl. Yes, you jump with B, and run by holding down Y. That's about it.

Then she ran right into a Goomba and asked, "Did I win the Mario?"

Watching my friend try to figure out how to hold the n64 controller the 1st time.
Friend: " Am i holding it right? ... whats this thing? "

Back in probably 1994, my cousin and I were playing NBA Jam on my Sega. Our grandfather, who was around 80 at the time, sits down and watches us in amusement for a few minutes. To our shock and great amusement, he comments on our playing in only the way a true old school farming man could:

"Wow, look at them n!ggers fly!"
