Kinda. When I first began collecting, I picked up a Power Base Converter for the Genesis I had had since I was little, and bought a couple Master System games to play. I still don't actually own a Master System, though I may pick one up eventually.
I also picked up a copy of Aleste for the Mark III, before later buying the Tototek converter and playing it through the Genesis.

I recently bought a boxed actraiser even though I don't have a snes, it seems to be really rare in the pal area.

Guilty. I bought a game for the Saturn, and planned on getting a Saturn. That was about a year ago when I had more income to dispose of. Now, the game just sits in my office, collecting dust.

It's weird that I just noticed this topic just now, because I'm staring at my copy of Yakuza 3 sitting on my shelf.
The only problem being, I don't have a PS3 yet!
Basically, I've been talking about getting one for so long that my brother began to mock me and make out that I was all talk and would never actually get one, so I bought this game to prove that I'm serious and will get one soon.
I heard rumours of a price cut coming in the Autumn so that could be the time.
Until then I'll just have to leave Yakuza 3 on the shelf...
torture!

Philips CD-i games: Hotel Mario, Link: The Faces of Evil, and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon are a few I can recall.

I used this tactic to get my mom to buy me an N-gage lot on ebay. I bought some game in a thrift store, but the lot had that game in it.

Also, I have done the exact opposite before too. I currently own a ColecoVison and TG-16 with the CD attachment and no games for any of them.

I bought Panzer Dragoon Orta when it was still new. I still don't have an XBOX yet.
