I went back to look for it but I can't find the part where I was talking about hardware power. It looks like I was mostly talking about motion controls. -_-;MrEco wrote: You yourself specifically called out hardware power in the section that I quoted you on in my first post. I wasn't talking about the over all success of the consoles. I was talking specifically about the hardware capabilities. Just. Like. You.
But if you wanna go ahead and make incorrect assumptions in an attempt to make me look stupid then go on. You're only digging your own grave.

I know what you mean man. There's like no point in buying these new $60 releases, when $60 can grab me a handful of carts/older games that I'll be able to get an equal amount of enjoyment out of.Xeogred wrote:a bunch of stuff I agree with
I used to get so pumped for new console releases, but when Wii/360/PS3 was announced, I wasn't really feeling it. I own a Wii and a PS3, but they definitely didn't have the effect that every other generation's introduction has had on me. Nintendo stepping up and starting the "next-gen" has the smallest effect on me yet. I just really don't care.
Re: E3 2011 Predictions
Yeah, same here really. You saw my post in the "games you regret buying" thread about my 360 collection, haha. I lost my Wii in a crazy craigslist debacle and while that really sucked, it's been about two years now and it just doesn't bother me at all not having one around anymore. I'll get one again eventually for some first party titles and GC backward compatibility for laziness, but I'm in no rush. I remember never really wanting a PS3 until I kind of randomly got one for Christmas in 2009 I think. Honestly, I love it, because I backed up all my PS1 memory cards, can create near infinite virtual memory cards, and my PS1 games look pretty damn sexy through HDMI actually. Yep, that's why I love my PS3, for PS1 games.brunoafh wrote:I know what you mean man. (and doesn't the Wii support HDMI? I hope, so GC games will look decent on my HDTV).
But yeah, I predict I'll be pretty apathetic about the next gen systems for awhile whenever they come around. I can't see the jump in terms of hardware and all that being that huge either this time, but who knows.

Re: E3 2011 Predictions
I completely skipped this generation of consoles. I actually didn't want to but I just didn't see the point in spending all the money on these new systems just to buy a few games I may only end up playing once, and I never got around to it. Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii and MGS4 for PS3 tempted me many times and I felt sort of left behind - but as you've put forth - I'm really glad I took a step back and didn't get sucked into all that, and really over time I became very apathetic. Plus my roommate in college had a PS3 anyways and I got to experience MGS4 and other games through that anyways. Now I'm enjoying going back and finding all the great games that passed me by in my youth on the PSX, Genesis, and hopefully SNES when I get around to buying one. I might get a next gen down the road though, who knows.Xeogred wrote:Yeah, same here really. You saw my post in the "games you regret buying" thread about my 360 collection, haha. I've skipped this gen of consoles (sans DS, but handhelds are a whole different beast.), either playing stuff on my friend's systems, or doing modern gaming on the PC.
