Re: Someone explain why so many people like My Little Pony now
Television doesn't have to be thought provoking to be good.

The problem is that somewhere between 80-90% of the things regularly playing on television during your average programming block are about as thought provoking as watching paint dry, and are only there to soak up air time and run commercials.
90% of EVERYTHING is crap. Doesn't matter what medium it is, this is a good rule to follow.
Of course, it's generally not a good idea to pass judgment on something until you've actually experienced it - although, I wouldn't say it's necessary to see something to completion to come to such a judgment.
For instance, tons of people said Jersey Shore sucked, but I didn't because I hadn't seen it. Then, it came on, I decided "Why the hell not?", and it took less than a minute for me to actually start feeling physically ill. The song "Friday" is another example of something I couldn't take more than a minute of before turning the damn thing off for my personal health.
I've actually got an episode of My Little Pony recorded onto the DVR. Ya know what? It's go time. Let's give this thing a spin.

I seriously admire that attitude towards new things that you have, the7k.

Also, for anyone who is interested in the series and wants to know some good starter episodes, I recommend 3, 4, and 23. They're some of the best ones so far, and the best ones for introducing the cast. The first two episodes are okay, but there are better ones.

It looks pretty cool to me. I also loved Robot Unicorn Attack, after all (seriously, that game is so kick ass).
If it is all on youtube I will give it a go, although I will hate it if I'm midway through and they remove the other episodes :/
Maybe I should only start watching it after I have secured a whole season of it.
Ivo.

Well... once they took Steve away from Blue, I pretty much defaulted to the Ponies

Well, the first season won't finish for another 3-4 weeks, just to let you know.

Exactly!
Re: Someone explain why so many people like My Little Pony now
Well, it was interesting. I don't exactly feel that it's the best show on television, but I can see how it is appealing. I'll probably have to watch more episodes to get a better feel for it.

It's not bad, and it has some golden moments (episode's 3 Benny Hill style chase scene...). But I don't think it is great compared to games I want to play.
I will eventually see season 1 for completeness, but after that I think I'd rather spend my limited time with other shows I haven't yet seen.
