Final Fantasy Adventure is action oriented to the same degree as classic Zelda games, but it's no run 'n' gunner or ninja gaiden.

Also, stay away from the The Castlevania Adventure for Game Boy if you want action and you like Castlevania. It's like 4 or 5 Castlevania levels at 1/5 the normal speed or slower....just warning.

seriously, Mole Mania needs more love. Muddy Mole is the manliest Nintendo character ever. He should have gotten an Assist Trophy in Brawl, where he suplexes Cabbages and giant iron balls into people.

I will say FFL3 was a good game, I'd like to see the announced DS-remake do well, the shout-out to the previous game was fun, and heck, I'm playing it now on bus rides to the post office. Still, I stand by my grumblings.

Also a good game to play on short trips: Catrap

Catrap and Mole Mania are both wonderful. But my favorite um "action platformer" on the system is Bubble Ghost. Absolutely no contest. It's amazing. I'd also HIGHLY recommend Kwirk. Or rather I do/have highly recommended it.
