Re: Old games/series that need to be remade/revived
Another vote for the 2D Zelda, Streets of Rage and Double Dragon I guess. I'm just as happy playing the original versions of games, I don't need a remake/revival of anything.

yup. If they just made a whole new Darkstalkers game out of the MvC3 engine, I'd pretty much stop having time to post here.Dylan wrote: Darkstalkers - I think the MvC3 engine would be better suited to the frantic pace the Darkstalkers games developed, and would fit the atmoshpere better. I agree that there's a lot of potential for great new characters, Darkstalkers still has one of my favorite casts as it is now.

Just update the graphics, leave everything else alone. And release it in a 3 pack including the original, Durandal, and Infinity with some solid online multiplayer deathmatch.
Durandal is my favorite FPS of all time (yes, I love it even more than Doom)
Older. Not wiser.

Shining Force! (A real one and in English!)
Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre (yes they did a remake, which was awesome, but I want a new title as well)
Suikoden 6, I want this
Road Rash (high def console remake)
Streets of Rage/Final Fight - great dlc game candidate
Chrono - needs a new game
Kohan - A great PC strategy series
Shadowrun - An actual RPG version, maybe done by Bethesda

Re: Old games/series that need to be remade/revived
I'm a huge Shining fan but Shining Force ended at III for me... Anything beyond that just made me sad. I, too, want a new one that's reminiscent of the classics. Hell, I'd be real interested in seeing one that copies the mechanics of Shining in the Darkness and Holy Ark.
Other than that, I want Double Dragon brought back (and DONE RIGHT), along with the rest of the beat 'em ups; Final Fight, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe.

As I explained in the most recent episode of Game Sack, Road Rash absolutely needs to be revisited. I feel that Criterion should be the developer. I think they're the only ones could do it justice... if anyone can do the series justice. It was raped horribly on the Playstation and N64 and that made EA can the series pretty quickly.

Burning Rangers - I find this game to be very fun, but the controls need to be reworked for sure.
Panzer Dragoon Saga - So we all know the source code was lost, but I still would love a remake and I know most people would.
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie - This series has aged pretty badly, so a remake is in order.
Final Fantasy VII- I'm a bit surprised this one hasn't been remade. The blocky character designs are tough to look at, and it would be nice to have a fully orchestrated soundtrack.
Vagrant Story - Great game, but as a PS1 title it certainly is showing signs of age and I would LOVE a remake.
Dragon Force - Great game, but the graphics look rather dated in battles. Would appreciate a upgrade.
