Can't use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector on Win7, but you can on Vista.

os x 10.6.6
Switched from long years on windows, never regretted it.

I always wanted to try linux but it was always hard to install, or it just needs some kind of special configuration to work with your hardware.
Multiple flavors makes it even more confusing, and having to learn extra computer skills just to use it does not make it very appealing....

the top reasons for linux was:
*faster
*free software

All hardware is fast now and cheap
Both Windows and Mac got a ton of free software on the opposite of early 2000 years.

so basically no reason, but I always liked SuSe :p

I need an XP SP3 for gaming, where can I find a cheap one? the prices might be higher than windows 7

Getting to learn extra computer skills is the best reason to use Linux. Actually, learning new skills is the best reason to do anything.

That's one of the reasons I stick with Vista.

What's a Nintendo WiFi USB connector for? Can't you just use a wifi router?

Only Nintendo products can connect through the Wi-Fi Connector, and DS games are only compatible with WEP security, not WPA. Since WPA is much more secure, it's better to use that to protect your computers, while using the Wi-Fi Connector to get the DS/Wii online.

OIC. I haven't had occasion to attach my DS to the network, but if I did I'd just set up a WEP vlan with dd-wrt.

Well the DSi and the DSiXL fixed that little issue. Some routers support sandboxing. I can have a separate wifi connection that has WEP encryption, mac address filtering and only the DS ports open for added security. So even if somebody were to get in, it's a separate subnet so they can't get to my other computers or even use the internet or anything anyway.

I am not interested to invest time and effort into learning more computer skills, i had enough between windows and macintosh. Though i still wish I got to use linux, maybe in the future...
