No TOC is needed for loading games from internal HDD storage. For that matter, even the unofficial patched versions of HD Loader are out of date by now. At this point, OPL actually has better compatibility and more features.

I updated the OP Second Reply PS2 HDAdvance/HDLoader Guide.
I added the information below concerning patching games.

PPF Patch Games
Some games will not work with HDAvance/HDLoader or other hard Drive loader programs.

Sometimes a simple change of the SYSTEM.CNF file with a text editor is all thats needed. The game Scarface for example, will not work without a fix. Create an ISO to the hard drive from the game disc. Open the system.cnf with notepad and add a 1 after the SLUS211.11 (1) and then rebuild with your ISO creation program. Burn the ISO to a DVDR and install to the PS2 Hard drive. Boot HDAdvance/HDLoader and with Modes 1-2-3 enabled in the game.

Another easier method is downloading a PPF PATCH for a particular game and applying it to a disc image with a PPF patch program.
PPF-O-MATIC V3.0

A PPF-Patch is very simple. Just load in a PPF and the corresponding BIN file by clicking on the Floppydisk icons. You can also open an Explorer window, drag and drop a PPF and a BIN file into the PPF-O-MATIC 3.0 window.

After you opened all the necessary files, press the APPLY button. The patch only takes a couple of seconds, now you can burn the ISO to disc and install to the Hard Drive.

Not sure about OPL. HDAdvance and HDLoader both can with a Flip Top or Slide Tool.

Sorry if this has been asked before but is there any reason for why this guide does not cover Open PS2 Loader? It’s better then HDAdvance in almost every way and is still actively being improved.

Aside from that this guide was incredibly helpful for when I was soft modding my PS2 back in May.

We have mentioned it several times in this thread, man.
Indeed, I love Open PS Loader. Please inform us when a new version gets released.
That goes for:
-Free McBoot
-OPL
-GSM
-Simple Media System
These are the main "apps" I use alot on my ps2

PROTIP*
As for Simple Media System, to play several mp3 files is succession. Go to the folder that holds the mp3´s. Click on O and the select play all mp3.
If you just select one mp3 you cannot play the next one.
Optimizing PS2 games 480p (progressive) and 240p gsm hdtv

I know it's been mentioned before but why hasn't it been include in the guide? HDAdvance is sorta out dated.

I prefer the pressed disc of HDAdvance augmented with HDLoader installed as one of the "Game Files." I have not used Open Loader since I am satisfied with the pressed disc route. That said, I can add OPL to the Guide, just need info from someone who has used it thoroughly.

@ LentFilms - You can create a separate guide for Open Loader or post directly here as a Reply. Be sure to include Pics and Reference Links which always helps. If it is okay with you, I'll Quote any useful information into the main Guide OP.

I was actually already considering this; it’s definitely the only thing this guide is missing.

Doing this would also not be the first time I wrote a guide of this magnitude.
