As I said fortunes are made by pioneers, and I repeat no one has ever tried to give the Japanese audience something else.
Nier had an adult protagonist. But that game sucked

Wasn't that an action game?

Funnily, there were two versions of the Japanese Nier. Gestalt, for Xbox 360, is the same as the Western game. Replicant, the Japanese PS3, features a boy who saves his sister instead of a man who saves his daughter.

Either way the character ain't getting some so it's not worth it.

Actually I wouldn't be shocked that the PS3 ends with the protagonist getting some.

Yeah I see a lot of Japanese porn with titles like "mom-son" and "brother-sister" but for some strange reason only western porn does "father-daughter".
Never understood that anyway. I can accept a fetish but this is the only thing I actually consider sooooo sick.

That's a mix of evolutionary instinct and cultural conditioning. That kind of close inbreeding is a good way to get bad recessives to the forefront. Even the ancient peoples understood this, though not in the terms I used. When you notice that siblings marrying leads to a lot of dead babies all of a sudden your bible has a "sibling sex is anathema" clause in it. At the same time because it is so forbidden in our culture it leads to a strong attraction to the concept because of its taboo nature. The fun part is that for most of these people the thought of a brother and sister getting it on is hot but actually getting it on with your own sister is disguisting.

That's not personal experience, right?
Back to the topic, I'd like to agree with everyone recommending the DS as a JRPG avenue. My love affair with the genre ended a long time ago but on those rare occasions I find myself having fun with anything resembling a JRPG it is, more often than not, on the DS.
Oddly enough, Dragonball Z: Attack of the Saiyans...? The best JRPG I've played in a long time. Who saw that coming?
