Where? I want one with a pre-installed modchip, too.noiseredux wrote:indeed. This week alone I got my 2nd Cube along with Component Cables, a 2nd GBPlayer and modchip for less than $50.AppleQueso wrote:Yeah, if anything I wouldn't sell right now at all. Gamecube's in that nice little limbo that all systems go through where it's too old to be relevant to gamers but not old enough to be considered retro or nostalgic. Great time for buying, bad time for selling.

Re: Thinking of selling off my gamecube collection
I guess like most people have said (Maybe everyone, I didn't read the entire thread...) it's probably not the greatest idea to sell it. I sold my gamecube collection around the time when the seventh console generation was about a year or so in, and I'm being honest when I say it is one of my biggest regrets, ever.
I really miss Wind Waker, Metroid, Mario Sunshine and a few other great games. Actually, a lot of other great games.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

I'm exactly the same, I must have had about 25 GC games, with them lot you mention and also some rarer ones like MGS Twin Snakes and Pikmin 2, then just sold them all to fund my 360 games (and I've sold them!) lol. But yeah, Gamecube is a great console, ATLEAST 20 games that are essentials. Keep them if you can, as I find a lot of Nintendo games don't devalue too badly.Rocketman wrote:I guess like most people have said (Maybe everyone, I didn't read the entire thread...) it's probably not the greatest idea to sell it. SHOCK
- I don't think selling to upgrade (e.g. a PS2 and games to upgrade to a PS3, GC and games to upgrade to a Wii, etc.) is actually a horrible idea all of the time. There are many instances where it is well worth your while to get top dollar for your old stuff via a trade-in promotion or something similar...especially if you don't expect to want to play them again for quite some time.
HOWEVER - don't part with anything you think you may be unable to buy back in the future (whether it be 3, 5, or 10+ years down the road). So be choosy with the games you decide to sell. If the game is popular and has sold a ton of copies, you should have no problem finding one for a reasonable price down the road (with some exceptions). But, if the game is more of a niche title, you should probably hold on to it rather than risk being unable to procure it again when you have the itch to go back.

Re: Thinking of selling off my gamecube collection
re-reading the thread and the OP's posts specifically, it seems like he's not interested in playing his GCN games at all. It seems like really most of his questions are "should I sell now or later" meaning, WHEN will the games be worth the most. Naturally, many of us GCN fans are like "noooooo don't sellz the CUBE!!!" but I dont' think his into playing the games.
Re: Thinking of selling off my gamecube collection
I think you're right. I just re-read the opening post and that's exactly it. I don't know how I missed/forgot the original question, guess the regret from selling off my old gamecube collection is still as strong as ever! (I seriously need to start buying gamecube games again...)noiseredux wrote:re-reading the thread and the OP's posts specifically, it seems like he's not interested in playing his GCN games at all. @OP: If I were you I wouldn't sell off my gamecube collection just yet, since gamecube sold the least amount of units last gen (Excluding Dreamcast) I think a lot of the games made for it will go up in value over the next few years. Who knows though, I could be wrong. Very, very wrong.

Re: Thinking of selling off my gamecube collection
While you're right about poor sales overall, most of those poor sales were for the cross-platform games which were usually better on other systems. As I understand it, exclusives (especially first-party exclusives) sold very well. This has been a problem for Nintendo since the N64 days though...if you look at those games, the first party titles have decent value, while third party and/or cross platform games usually do not.Rocketman wrote:I think you're right.
