Personally I'm happy the water levels are gone. They sucked and always bore me. The only platform game that does water levels right is Sonic

They should've released this for wiiware and gave us a brand new Donkey Kong game in the vein of DK64. Don't get me wrong, this is awesome but I was hoping for a more DK64 type game. Still gonna get it nonetheless.

I said it in another thread: This attitude is why we dont' get retail sidescrollers often anymore.

Agreed. Why the hell anyone would choose a new DK64 type of game over a new Donkey Kong Country is beyond me. I don't hate DK64, it's a good game, but DK was a lot better in 2D. This looks like a real progression of the series, as apposed to 'everyone loves 3D, I know lets just force the game into a 3D platformer and help make it more generic'.

This looks fantastic in my opinion! I'll be getting it as soon as it comes out.

Well, in that case, I'm very glad that DK, or Donkey Kong, is here.

I would absolutely love a new 2D Donkey Kong with the original Tiny Kong look in it! you never know DKCR might have her in it!

I really liked the first water level in DKC and a few of them in DCK2 like the one where the water turns red. But yeah, I really agree about Donkey Kong being far inferior to Diddy. I always switched to Diddy right away. DKC2 was great because both characters were fast and jumped high.

Now sonic was a game where I hated water levels. So slooooooooow. Hydrocity was the only water level done right because you mostly stayed out of the water unless you really screwed up. Hell, he ran straight over it in parts. They did do a good job of causing panic with the race to the next air bubble though.

I actually liked the original DKC's water levels. Super Mario 1/3's water levels were OK. I always HATED Sonic's water levels. They were just tedious, frustrating, annoying, and mostly SLOW!

perhaps I should have given more info. Growing up I only had Sonic 2 and Sonic and Knuckles. I didn't buy Sonic 1 and 3 until I was older. So since S&K has no water levels (I always wondered as a kid why they have the bubble power up that makes you breath under water when there isn't a single place in the game that has water. Then I read on the internet about S3&K) when I think about Sonic water levels my mind goes to Aquatic Ruin Zone. This level worked really well since the water parts could be skipped, and even if you fell in the water it wasn't that slow, and didn't last long.

Also one of the best tracks in the sonic games
