What do you dislike the most about your favorite console?

The ps1's lack of a z-buffer for me. It's what's responsible for that "warping" effect on textures and models you always see.

I just got a DSi XL yesterday and my 7 year old was running around the house taking pictures with it. Her friends (some of her friends have the DSi, she has the DSL) enjoy the same.

I agree with you that it's a dumb idea but to a young kid, it's a brilliant decision.

The NDS but we took away the GBA functionality... but you can take silly pictures of your friends... if you want.

Ironically I use mine often. I carry my DSiXL with me daily, and my cellphone Ive had since 2004. So the camera in my DS is better than the one in my phone. That, and thanks to the plastic lens, you can get some really neat effects if you know what you are doing.

To get on topic though:
SNES - how hard it is to find 1st party controllers. I have four SFC controllers, but only 3 SNES ones. And it is bloody hard to find them online thanks to all the bootlegs.

Are SFC controllers compatible with an SNES?

An NTSC SNES can take SFC controllers no problem. A Pal one needs a mod.

I'm with the 64, the controller i am scared to use my only good one left, I will be on the hunt for a third party one soon, but I shouldn't have to, they should have been more solid as well as much more durable sticks. On top of all the normal PAL issues, it sucks how the system can no be modded in almost any way as well as the fact PAL cant do RGB out.

I also dislike the insulation used on the Saturn controller, those wires hold the round shape for ages if you wrap the cord around your controller.

Overall I love the 64, but until I find myself a decent 3rd party controller on the cheap (superpad / Hori) I most likely wont be playing it too often.

Not sure if you knew, any 2600 controller will work. Easiest system to custom build one since its only five digital switches.

I know this is about our favorite consoles but as far as my second favorites. I find the first gen Genesis controllers to be horrendous though I prefer their color scheme, and the GBA SP's don't all have backlights.

I love my model 1 Genesis and Saturn equally, though I prefer PSPgo to the GBASP

They'd need an extra chip to do the GB/GBC BC, and adding another chip on the board would make the DS larger to accomodate it.

Nah, c'mon. This day and age they could easily do it with software emulation. I've seen a DSlite running an SNES game with few problems. There's definitely enough horsepower to run a GB cart.

No idea, but I'd assume so. And while they conceivably could do it with software emulation that doesn't mean Nintendo would want to. All their previous BC has been hardware BC.

I wonder if it would be possible to make a software emulator for the DS that would allow you to play an actual GB/GBC cart? .............

EDIT: if such a thing exists, I'm buying anther DS!
