The first SoR is definitely the hardest for me. The hit boxes and collision detection can be unforgiving at times. SoR2 is more reasonable. As for the third game I only had the Japanese version, Bare Knuckle III, which was fairly easy even on Very Hard. I was shocked by how much Sega of America/Europe cheapened the difficulty for SoR3, not to mention the unnecessary change of apparel colours and the removal of Ash.
A side note here: The music of SoR3 is simply incredible for the Megadrive. I don't know why many don't like it. Perhaps due to its experimental nature.

I found it...just a bit TOO scratchy for me. I dunno, it always felt to me like Yuzo Koshiro was trying to push the Mega Drive's sound capabilities maybe a bit TOO hard. It just wasn't my favorite sound track.
