From what I have heard from the Kotaku guys that actually got to play the game, the filter doesn't even matter. The game goes so fast that you won't notice the difference, and if you are noticing the difference... "You're Already Dead."fast wrote:Smooth looks the best in still frames, to me atleast. I still want to see how they look in motion.
New Marvel vs. Capcom coming?

Re: New Marvel vs. Capcom coming?
If they did it any other way it would completely change the game. The game is built around having a 4:3 playing area, so changing that to a true 16:9 would mean that you now have a much wider area. This can screw with combos and makes keep-away easier.nateup2 wrote:Ok, after readings IGN's piece on it, it seems that it is not entirely widescreen. I guess the players movement is restricted, not allowing players to become further apart than 4:3.nateup2 wrote:It looks like it is actually widescreen instead of a zoom or some other fake
Does this sound kind of retarded to anyone else? Whats even the point?

Smooth looks fucking terrible. Crisp just seems like HQ3X with a light soft effect. Better than nothing I guess.

True and right... but I'll probably just play with the border. Hopefully its a cool one.MrPopo wrote:If they did it any other way it would completely change the game. Actually I'd rather have big selection of borders than the widescreen illusion. I'm sure many would disagree obviously.

So I clicked that link, and instead of letting me see it, it led me to their homepage, and when I tried modifying the URL, it gave me a 404 and their site insulted me. So, with no alternatives, I clicked the only button on their site that looked like it would give me a picture, and was presented with an image of Bowser sodomizing a Koopa Troopa.Jayson wrote:The crisp filter from the comparison shots looks best in my opinion. A nice compromise between the jaggies and the blurryness.
