Fair enough. Its good to be consistent.

Unlike the rest of us jerks who changed everything.

More FFVIII tonight. Hunting for Cid at the moment. Seems like all hell has broken loose everywhere.

Lots more FFVIII tonight. I dont think I've used a single attack, magic, or item command once yet on disc 2. Every single fight has no strategy other than spam Gaurdian Force. If I see a new enemy I might use draw just to see if they have any new spells (which I wont ever cast, just junction to my character), but rarely even do that. Doesnt matter if its a boss fight or a regular battle, just keep launching the GF. NORG only hit me once and he/it was a freaking boss battle.

It would be really nice if you could skip the GF animations since I've seen them so many times now. The story is kind of weird and they are just staring to get into the whole "dream world" aspect the characters experience now and again. It seems like the game is supposed to be very serious, but then things like NORG happen and it breaks the mood. Battles are a joke and the game isnt overly interesting. So far this is looking to be the lamest game of the summer, trumping even Super Mario Sunshine in lameness.

I seem to remember liking FF8 when I played it @ release, but I can't really remember one detail of the combat or story anymore. Odd.

I never did finish FF9 though I enjoyed it. Maybe that's one for next year...

FF9 is definitely one I want to commit to at some point too. Same thing, I thought it was great, but never played through it completely. Actually I think it was my favorite of the PS1 trilogy. Hmm.

Final Fantasy VIII is lamer than Super Mario Sunshine, which is also lame itself. lol

I'm totally with you on the Gamecube rocks wagon. It was my console of choice at the time (which may be slowly turning to the PS2 now that I'm catching up on RPGs though). As the flagship Mario title for the system though it fell flat for me. As a platformer in general it fell flat also.

I wrote why I felt that in more detail, but its probably buried under a few dozen pages of posts by now.

I've slacked on my list this past week. Which sucks, cuz I was aiming to beat 3 games per month. I only beat 2 in June. Anyway, I've just been pretty busy, but I do want to pick MGS back up.

This is where I left off: the guy I was supposed to rescue in the cell had a heart attack. So I leave the room and there's a bunch of dudes having a shoot-out. Then a bunch of them shot me since I was pretty much walking into a barrage of bullets. Advice?
