Such a shame. I think the Wii U's been my favorite Nintendo console since the SNES.

Can anyone link to a good low priced, $60 or less, External Hard Drive that works well with the Wii U, since they have certain recommendations they make on that works best? Or any you have that work well assuming such a thing exists. I've run out of room for downloads and I have about 6 games, 2 full, plus DLC I would like to download without having to remove anything else.

Didn't they use the world "platform"? Platform doesn't automatically mean console.

^That's true, could very well be a mobile platform as many have suggested, or even a successor to the 3DS which in my opinion doesn't need it.

Personally it would be nice if they made a mobile platform and paired it with the Wii U gamepad, so it could truly be a portable/console in one, but I can't think of a single way it could work at the moment.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I love my Wii-U.... I don't play it much though; not as much as I should. Especially Hyrule Warriors. 2 of my favs in 1 kick ass game.

I can't get passed the 1 eyed boss though... it annoys me so bad I just quit playing. :?

Getting the next console ready means it will probably come out next year, I think. The Wii U would be 4 years old at that point.

4 years is early for a successful console, but not for a failed one. In North America, oXbox and Sega Saturn were both 4 when their successors launched, and the Master System was only 3.

But the U is not a failed console, and the comparison to those 3 consoles doesn't work well even if it is.

I recommend this drive: http://www.amazon.com/Elements-Portable ... 34&sr=8-1&

For the U, you're also gonna need this Y cable: http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-dual-Mic ... VH6RHFQ34R

Currently, the 500GB is $50 and the 1TB version is only $8 more. So just use your own discretion. I use the 500GB version with my Wii (not U) and I love it. I love the size of it. It's small enough to squeeze in any where, or even just keep behind the console. It's dead quiet, no added noise at all. No extra power adapter required, and it'll power on/off with the console, making it really easy to use.

You need the Y cable in order to use it with the U (you don't need the Y cable for the Wii if any one was wondering). Read the reviews for both links I provided. They both have "Works with Wii U" reviews. I love mine with the Wii, and it's what I plan on getting if I ever need one for my U.

The Wii U is closer to 2.5 years old. Wasn't this the same mistake Sega made when they launched the Dreamcast too soon after the Saturn and made their fans and 3rd party developers afraid of investing in a new Sega console?
